Q&A with Recruiter Faith Stout

Q: What would you say is the most rewarding thing about being a HealthCare Support recruiter?

A: The community. From direct teammates to colleagues in other departments, everyone supports each other and is ready to help, share knowledge, and encourage each other.

Q: What type(s) of service or support do you offer to candidates/new hires that most people wouldn’t think a recruiter would provide?

A: I provide emotional support not just during the interview and offer process, but also throughout the candidate’s training and transition into the role. Recruiting is often seen as transactional, but I make it clear that my goal is to help them find the best role for them. I am a supportive guide through what can be a stressful period of change.

Q: What’s an inspiring, compassionate, or funny story you’ve heard from one of your candidates providing care in the field?

A: I have a Medical Assistant working in the Albany, GA area who transitioned into the role a few months ago. She often hears from patients how meaningful it is to have a company providing in-home care for geriatric patients in such a rural community. With years of experience in the medical field, she feels she’s finally found a company that’s truly making a difference for those who need it most.

Q: What are some tips you have for job candidates to give them the best chance of being selected for a role they are interested in?

A: Take the time to make sure you understand the position and the company prior to the interview, and let the interviewer know that you’re excited for the chance to fill the role!

Q: Do you have any great advice you give to candidates to prepare them for their new travel assignment/permanent position?

A: Don’t be afraid to ask questions and give yourself the chance to learn! Whether it’s a candidate with 1-2 years of experience or 20 years, each new position comes with an adjustment period to a new environment, new colleagues, and new systems. Give yourself the chance to grow!

Q: As an expert in your role as a recruiter, how does the HealthCare Support experience stand out in a crowd?

A: As a recruiter, the support system is one of a kind. It’s not uncommon for even a director to be available to share their advice or knowledge when you need to walk through a new challenge.
