Patient Registration Representative

HealthCare Support is actively seeking a Patient Registration Representative to fill an opening in Bakersfield, CA.
                                                                                                                                                                           
Daily Responsibilities for Patient Registration Representative:

• Register and Pre Register patients
• Verifies Insurance eligibility, benefits and authorizations
• Verify patient demographics
• Collect co-pay, co-insurance, and deductibles.
• Provides excellent customer service.

• Various days and hours. Must be flexible – 24/7 availability. 40 hours per week *ER schedules 4 x 10 hour shifts (this is considered an alternate shift schedule and would only be eligible for OT if they work more than 40 hours in a week)

  *shifts can vary but schedules come out 6 weeks in advance
  *must be available to work every other weekend

Required Qualifications for Patient Registration Representative:

• 1+ years of experience in patient registration experience at hospital, urgent care, or busy physician office. Manager is STRICT on this rule and not looking for direct patient care experience (i.e. CNA, medical assistant for back office, home health aide)
• Insurance knowledge of all payers HMO, PPO, government
• Comfortable working under pressure in the ER
• Strong computer skills including Word, Excel, and EMRs
• Type 45 wpm 10 key by touch
• Customer Service
• High school diploma or GED

Preferred Qualifications for Patient Registration Representative:              

• Previous Patient Registration Rep experience

Pay Details: $23 – $25 an hour
