Required Skills
What We Look For in a HIM Manager:
- 2+ years of Leadership experience
- 2+ years of ICD-9 and CPT coding experience
- Ability to plan, assign and supervise work of the staff of the H.I.M. Department.
Responsibilities
More Insight of Daily Responsibilities of a HIM Manager:
In this opportunity, you will manage all aspects of the Medical Record Department, including but not limited to: Able to code for all areas within the hospital. This position additionally functions as the Compliance Officer, HIPAA Officer, and internal auditor (please see appropriate job descriptions for further details). The HIM Manager reports monthly data statistics, completes and submits all OSHPD reports to the state, and has oversight of scanning the obstetrics/newborn documentation into the Tracevue System and oversight of scanning medical records into the Prognosis System, checks the Tracevue delivery accounts for required signatures, both physician and nursing, monitors dictation and transcription, corrects all duplicate medical records errors, clones accounts, handles all employee issues from time off requests to internal conflicts, attends managerial meetings and communicates with administration when needed. Check daily in Prognosis / Chart Access for unresolved visits.
